The Flyers played Fordham at Madison Square Garden on January 13th - a Wednesday night but we decided that we would just take a few days off of work, go to the game, and hang out in the city. Erin was coming to the game with us so she came and hung out in the city with us for the day.
First stop (after checking into our hotel, of course), lunch at a lovely restaurant called Josie's that we found by chance. Then a stop at Levain Bakery.
First sightseeing stop - the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
After wandering around there for many hours, we headed to the Empire State Building. We didn't think we'd try to go up to the top (even though Will and Erin had never been) but figured we'd check it out and were going to meet up with one of Erin's friends at the brewery on street level.
Well, we walked right in and all the way up to the top. We didn't have to wait at any point on the way up and even got our own elevators. We were goofing off in the first dancing around and trying to get the camera to take a picture of all of us. When we got off the elevator and walked away, the guides were laughing at us - that's when we realized that there was a security camera in the elevator and they were watching us as we rode up.
After spending some time in the bar, we headed to the Garden for the game.
The Flyers beat the Rams - 75 to 58. Oh well, it would have been sad if we'd lost.
