Snowmageddon: Before the Storm

We had Friday off so Marcy and I headed out to run some errands and find some caches before the snow arrived. We got an early start because according to the weather gurus, it was going to start snowing late Friday morning and continue into late Saturday evening. First we went to Lake Accotink Park, where we found several letterbox hybrids which were semi-covered in snow (from the 30 January and 2 February snows).

Much or most of the lake was frozen over. Geese were reduced to waddling atop the ice.

That's me preparing to log another cache find; pedestrian bridge over train tracks. We saw an Amtrak train earlier (while Marcy snapped some shots of the geese).

We saw a few flakes once we hit the halfway point in our hike around the lake, so we stepped up our pace and returned to the car. Plows were already working the parking lot. We made a few last-minute errands and then came home to wait out the snow. And indeed it snowed...
